Freudenberg Filtration Technologies Australia
We manufacture and supply an extensive range of Microfresh® filters specially developed for mining, diesel exhaust and industrial filtration applications.
Micro Fresh Filters began life in the early 1990's working with the 3M Company and BHP Billiton Illawarra Coal to develop an efficient diesel exhaust filter to operate on diesel vehicles in underground coal mines.
Following many years of research and development, stringent testing and an approval regime the first filter, the DA100 having been fitted to an Eimco 913 went into operation at BHP Billiton's Tower Colliery in 1995.
The following years saw the Micro Fresh exhaust filter approved for use on and fitted to a variety of vehicles in coal mines in both New South Wales and Queensland. Over the last 15 years a number of new exhaust filters have been developed to suit specialised vehicles and the company continues to carry out further research and development.
In 2002 Micro Fresh established an Industrial Filter manufacturing division suppling specialist filters for a wide range of applications throughout Australia and New Zealand.
Recent years have seen an emphasis on establishing an international market for the exhaust filter and extensive work has been carried out in South Africa and the United States of America.
So that the company can continue its efforts in this direction it was decided that there was need to amalgamate with an internationally recognised company and following serious negotiations with Freudenberg in Germany a joint venture was finalised in September 2010.
Headquartered in Weinheim, Germany, Freudenberg Filtration Technologies has around 1,200 associates at more than 30 locations around the world. The company develops, manufactures and markets a comprehensive filter program and filtration services. Freudenberg's filtration solutions are used in many industrial applications, particularly as micronAir® cabin air and engine intake air filters for the automotive industry and Viledon® intake air and exhaust air filters in various industrial applications, completed by solutions for liquid and human protection filtration.
